Welcome to SkyesTours.org

  •  Est. in 2014, SkyesTours.org started out with one tour van, located by Hollywood's former "Riot House," now the Andaz hotel. What started out as a source of education, and cultural awareness of Hollywood's history, triumphs, and contributions to the world,  now expanded to an online source of tourism and revelry. w See the "Spotlight On" section of this site for some informative and  fun reviews!
  • Purchased by Harvey H. Wilcox in 1887, Hollywood was called Hollywoodland up until 1949, when it was  then changed to be called "Hollywood."  The town was a real estate investment, an opportunity, a place to build homes, schools, businesses.....But, along with all that, in the 1900s...there was a spark that made Hollywood different than any other town. It was a spark that forever changed Hollywoodland, and made it what it is today, and what it will always be identified as.
  • This spark was the entertainment industry., the motion picture. First,  with the silent films, later the "talkies." This is what made the world go "Hurray for Hollywood!"

The motion picture industry invaded Hollywoodland in the 1900s.  With the latest technology, the favorable weather...Hollywoodland became the birthplace of major movie studios from Paramount Pictures, to Warner Brothers, Charlie Chaplin's Studios, and many more that continue to flourish to this day.  In 1910,  D.W. Griffith, made the very first motion picture in Hollywoodland, a silent film entitled ""In Old California."

The innovations taking place in the motion picture industry at that time made Hollywood intriguing. They captured a surreal new world of a never before explored art form that reached audiences in the masses, all around the world.

Hollywood continues to bring to the world much history, innovation, storytelling, and art.

As a visitor, you may find that Hollywood is sort of a novelty town. Kinda like a theme park! On every corner, there is some thing to see! There are even animated people in costumes parading around at Hollywood and Highland Center by Mann's Chinese Theater!  Hollywood is a place that is whimsical, iconic, and even surreal.  From the giant dinosaur who changes costumes per season, standing on top of the "Ripley's Believe it or Not!" museum building, to the Guinness World Records museum, to the simply iconic Hollywood sign itself (see it from Beachwood canyon!), the world famous walk of fame, Gruman's Mann's Chinese where you can view that hand and foot prints of thousands of stars through out the ages, and so very much more!

In these streets, behind these billboards, and lingering around historic buildings, Hollywood holds many secrets, many stories, and many miraculous tales of those who dared to dream a dream that really did come true. It is a tale that can inspire people from all walks of life, to live their dreams, whatever it may be! This once little town of dirt roads, and orange groves, has become the  symbol of entertainment industry for  generations. There is some thing infinitely nostalgic, and authentic about Hollywood, California, that continues to  hold a special place in the hearts of millions of visitors.
